City proposing transporter and off-premises storage licenses
June 5, 2017
Denver Excise & Licenses has proposed two new marijuana business license types. These licenses would mirror new ones created by the Colorado state legislature in 2016.
Marijuana Transporter License
Intended for businesses that transport marijuana and are not already licensed as a marijuana business. A grow, MIP, or store would not need this license to transport their own product nor product they are buying from another licensed business.
Marijuana Off-Premises Storage License
Intended for businesses that already have a Denver cultivation, MIP, or storefront license, or have a marijuana transporter license based anywhere in the state
Creation of these new licenses requires an ordinance and approval by City Council.
Additional information and a draft of the proposed ordinance will be brought before City Council’s Special Issues: Marijuana committee on Monday, June 12 at 3 p.m. in Room 391 of the City and County Building, 1437 Bannock St.
