Monday webinar to discuss industry health and safety issues

The Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists will host a webinar on Occupational Health and Safety Issues in the Marijuana Industry on Monday, May 15 at noon.

The learning objectives of the webinar are to:
- Understand who safety and health stakeholders might be in addressing hazards of an emerging industry.
- Learn about current research efforts to evaluate potential occupational hazards in the legalized cannabis industry.
- Gain an improved understanding of how legalized marijuana impacts occupational health and safety surveillance.
Featured presenters include Roberta Smith, Occupational Health Program Manager from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment; Meredith Towle, State Occupational Epidemiologist from the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services; James Couch, Industrial Hygienist from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health; and Bernadette Albanese, Medical Epidemiologist from the Tri-County Health Department in Colorado.
